Jesus Saves Us FROM our Sins, not IN Our sins!

Mosiah 3:19 in “The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ” makes it very clear that God knows what our natural desires are and tells us what to do about it:

“For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father.”

The Supreme Court decided that marriage is for pretty much anyone who wants to marry anyone. I have seen that this upsets almost zero (fewer than ten percent) of the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Most members of the LDS church rejoice in this with the great and spacious building. God, Jesus, The Prophet and the Apostles mourn. Of course, it seems most LDS church members are not thinking (or caring in the least) about how the Prophet and the Apostles feel. They do mention Jesus a lot in order to show that those who side with the General Authorities are not loving. Most simply stay away from it, as this is a socio-political issue. They believe that our nation’s laws will have no consequences which our religions will notice, which is where the Prophet and Apostles disagree with you.

“We should let them do what they want. That is loving everyone, as Jesus does.” –I have heard too much of that lie of Satan’s

The truth is this. Jesus saves us FROM our sins when we repent of our sins. Jesus forgives upon repentence. He said, “Go, and SIN NO MORE.” Yes, Jesus DOES believe that SIN is a word that exists. Jesus will not save anyone IN THEIR SINS because he loves everyone. He will save them FROM THEIR SINS if they REPENT and take His name upon themselves and get baptised AS HE DID (the same way he did) and stay on the straight and narrow PATH (not on whichever path he or she feels like). Also he or she must endure to the end.

Corinthians 13 is used in an attempt to tell me I need to LOVE. Which translation you use makes a difference. Mine is the King James verion.

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away….”

It is interesting to note that the word “unseemly” is used also in Romans.

Romans 1:26-28

“For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;”

Alma Chapter 11, verses 32-40 in “The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ” has a portion of a story about a man named Zeezrom challenging Amulek, who was rch of God. This is in the scriptures

“And Zeezrom said again: Who is he that shall come? Is it the Son of God?

“And he said unto him, Yea.”

“And Zeezrom said again: Shall he save his people in their sins?

“And Amulek answered and said unto him: I say unto you he shall not, for it is impossible for him to deny his word.”

“Now Zeezrom said unto the people: See that ye remember these things; for he said there is but one God; yet he saith that the Son of God shall come, but he shall not save his people—as though he had authority to command God.”

“Now Amulek saith again unto him: Behold thou hast lied, for thou sayest that I spake as though I had authority to command God because I said he shall not save his people in their sins. And I say unto you again that he cannot save them in their sins; for I cannot deny his word, and he hath said that no unclean thing can inherit the kingdom of heaven; therefore, how can ye be saved, except ye inherit the kingdom of heaven? Therefore, ye cannot be saved in your sins.”

“Now Zeezrom saith again unto him: Is the Son of God the very Eternal Father?”

“And Amulek said unto him: Yea, he is the very Eternal Father of heaven and of earth, and all things which in them are; he is the beginning and the end, the first and the last; And he shall come into the world to redeem his people; and he shall take upon him the transgressions of those who believe on his name; and these are they that shall have eternal life, and salvation cometh to none else.”

These people need to know that Jesus is the God of the old Testament. Isn’t it about time they knew that?
