Breastfeeding in Public, Yes! Pornography and Sexually Suggestive Stuff, No!

Yesterday, the Utah Coalition Against Pornography had a meeting. Apostle in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, spoke. I agree with him that pornography is as awful a he says it is. I visited the coalition website and learned that freedom of the press and freedom of speech does not include an allowance for pornography to be so widely displayed on the internet that, even with Netnanny protection, my kids and I still see provocative ads in which women and men are wearing little more than barely enough to cover their “private parts.”

Not only that, but we have serious questions about many movies now, in the which tight clothing is the norm, and short-shorts or low-cut tops  for women, or none for men, are as common as the sun coming up each day. I highly recommend checking the ratings on Kids In Mind, not just to check on movies for the sake of kids, but to check them for yourself before deciding to view them. This will indeed mean not seeing the movies as soon as they come out, as it takes at least a month for reviews by parents to “come in” on the site. Please do not rely on the ratings of MPAA, as, in my opinion, they are quite unreliable and do not catch what most people worry about at all. “Kids in Mind” does. As a matter of fact, if you want to fight pornography and suggestive things that can be “triggers” for people to want to see pornography again, then please support “Kids in Mind” by always checking their review for the movie before going to see it (even as an adult). This will prevent you from having to see something bad and surprising which you had no clue could ever make it into a movie with that MPAA rating.

As for the internet, we use Netnanny, but that is not the only filter out there. Use one. I have found with experience, that even if you are shopping for something like flower seeds, or wanting to read a blog post about dishwasher detergent, you should not enter the code to bypass your filter’s warning. I have opted instead to tell friends, “Sorry. I cannot read that article. It is blocked by Netnanny.” My friends are surprised and say there is nothing bad in that article. I believe them, but I also know that Netnanny always has a good reason. I discovered with time that unlocking that page means unlocking a page which allows any kind of ad at all to show up on that page. That means porn ads could be on there, too.

This blog is on wordpress, and I do not know that wordpress keeps porn ads off of their website. They may not. In that case, there may be many who will not see my blog posts because a filter warns them that there may be questionable ads on here.

Now on to the second portion here. I am very supportive of women breastfeeding in public. This includes myself. I have the right to put my child first. If my child is hungry and I feel it best, I will feed my child. I stand by any breastfeeding woman who also wants to do likewise. Breastfeeding in public is nowhere akin to movies in the which tight or skimpy clothing is worn. Breastfeeding in public is nowhere akin to men in movies being shirtless. Breastfeeding in public is nowhere near sexual innuendo. It is as far from it as anything Godly can get. Yes, I am saying that breastfeeding is Godly. It is divine. Of course it is. God made my breasts so that I can feed my child with them, as He wants me to. Anyone who tells you that breasts were not made for this purpose but to attract and please men has been far too moved by Satan’s conquest. Satan’s work is to make cleavage-showing in movies to be considered “morally clean” and breastfeeding to be considered “dirty.” Satan has made it so adultery is common on nightly television (in other words, widely accepted as just fine) and in movies, whilst a woman breastfeeding her baby in a friend’s living room is considered to be something more morally corrupt than adultery.

Like the Utah Coalition Against Pornography said on its web site, we cannot blame this on “Society,” or on others. We ARE SOCIETY! We are still alive and living, here on earth in the flesh and alive. It is OUR TURN ON EARTH! We determine what is morally dirty and what is morally clean. Let us not shame mothers who care for their young in a way God provided them, allowing the women also some chance to have a social life by getting a chance to visit with their neighbors and friends while feeding the baby. Should only mothers who bottle feed be allowed to be seen feeding their babies in public? That is what Satan wants the norm to be. Satan does not want men, women, boys and girls to learn that God made this method for women to feed their babies. He does not want breastfeeding (or becoming a mother, for that matter) to happen at all. He is against family bonding. He would have us disconnect women from babies at birth. Satan would have our babies raised by the community like in the book “Agenda 21,” by Harriett Parke. Now THAT is a fiction novel you should read if you feel against breastfeeding in public. Then, perhaps, you could see the possible futuresque plans of Satan.

I encourage men, women, youth and children to encourage and support breastfeeding in public, so that, if for no other reason, we can moralize and normalize something Satan has made abnormal and immoral. Breastfeeding is Godly and Divine. Motherhood is Godly and Divine.

Attack the immorality by not going to those movies anymore, by not supporting television that makes adultery normal and fine. Attack it by not buying clothing that is revealing (including tight maxi skirts). Attack pornography online by not clicking on the web sites that have those ads. Attack pornography by talking with your kids and your spouse about what is wrong and why it is wrong. Please when having these discussions, discuss how and why breastfeeding in public is NOT IMMORAL or wrong in any way and why it is DIVINE and GODLY. I would appreciate it and so will all of the other breastfeeding moms out there! Thanks, from us!
